The studios of the ARTISTS OF EASTBANK are located in what was formerly the Speigel Catalog Warehouse. Built in 1911 along the South Branch of the Chicago River, the building is located in the venerable Bridgeport neighborhood a few minutes southwest of downtown Chicago. The ARTISTS OF EASTBANK represent several artistic disciplines, which include but are not limited to: painting, sculpture, graphic design, jewelry design, blown glass, custom furniture design, pastel painting, ceramics, and fiber arts. In the last 10 years the Bridgeport area has become a haven for visual artists and the "come to" place for the best and most innovative art in the city!
Each month there are many opportunities to visit this area and enjoy new gallery exhibitions, performance art, and other art "happenings". Twice a year, in May and October, the ARTISTS OF EASTBANK open their studios to the public. These events have become among the best attended art events in Bridgeport. We encourage art lovers to bookmark this website and watch for information about our Open Studio Days!
The Bridgeport area also enjoys a wonderful crossection of cultural and ethnic influences which offer wonderful shopping and dining experiences after a long day of "art walking".
